SF State now has at least two connections to Sarah Palin. One of her last acts as Alaska governor was appointing Design and Industry alumnus Mark Vinsel to the Alaska Board of Forestry.

The Design for All Institute of India devoted two issues of its newsletter to universal design projects at SF State, from student competitions and curriculum to accessible landscapes and wind chimes.

Brian Chiu, a senior in Design and Industry, was selected as the winner of the San Francisco City Identification Card youth logo contest.

On Nov. 18 at the Board of Supervisors meeting, Sup. Tom Ammiano commended Chiu for his talents. Chiu’s winning design will appear on all SF City ID Cards, program materials and business window signs. The City ID Card will serve as photo identification for San Francisco residents, streamlining city programs, connecting residents to local businesses and offering multiple functions.
