Alum named to Alaska Board of Forestry

SF State now has at least two connections to Sarah Palin. One of her last acts as Alaska governor was appointing Design and Industry alumnus Mark Vinsel to the Alaska Board of Forestry.

Vinsel is executive director of United Fishermen of Alaska, was chairman of the Alaska Commemorative Coin Commission from 2005 to 2008 and chairman of the Alaska Fishing Industry Relief Mission from 2005 to 2007. He is also a painter.

SF State’s other known connection to Palin is through Elan Frank, a filmmaker who interviewed her for an upcoming documentary.
