Fete for longtime piano professor

William Corbett-JonesProfessor William Corbett-Jones has inspired hundreds of emerging pianists and thousands of music lovers throughout his 42-year-tenure at SF State. At 3pm April 26, the University will honor him with a concert celebrating his 80th birthday.

Corbett-Jones has given solo and chamber recitals all over the world, from Topeka to Taipei, and he has the scrapbooks full of programs and newspaper clippings to prove it,” music critic Joshua Kosman wrote in a San Francisco Chronicle story about Corbett-Jones published April 24.

The Chronicle story takes readers on a trip throughout Corbett-Jones’ life, from his upbringing in the Bay Area and the East Coast to his tours worldwide.
