Alumna Danielle Knox embodies Lifetime Television’s “The Balancing Act.” She is a guest host on the talk show that offers solutions for women juggling career and home. Knox also recently was named weekend news anchor for CBS affiliate WGCL-TV in Atlanta, runs her own skin-care products company, and is a loving wife and mother of three boys.
Knox (M.A., Radio and Television, ’91) has a vast range of experience anchoring and reporting for television stations throughout the country. Before moving to Atlanta in October, she co-anchored the morning newscast for CBS affiliate WFOR-TV in Miami and its two sister stations. Knox has also been a television reporter in Connecticut, Louisiana and at ZDTV in San Francisco. While attending SF State, Knox was host and segment producer for “Business in the Black,” a weekly talk show in the Bay Area.
In 2005, driven to find solutions to her own skin-care woes, Knox launched Play Pretty Beauty, an organic bath and body care company that began in her kitchen. Inspired by South Florida’s tropical lifestyle and diversity, the line contains scented washes, lotions and creams that contain none of the highly allergic, synthetic ingredients and artificial colors found in other products.
