Well-known soloists and chamber players from around the globe perform and teach talented young musicians.

The free concert series includes performances by cellist Misha Quint, founder and director of InterHarmony, and other renowned musicians, culminating in an orchestral concert conducted by Sidney Harth, former Chicago Symphony concertmaster and former Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor.

Morrison Artists Series: Eroica Trio

The Grammy nominated Eroica Trio kicks off the Morrison Artists Series' 54th season, returning to the site of its West Coast debut in 1990. The trio is on the vanguard of a new generation of artists changing the face of classical music, as one of the first all-female chamber ensembles to reach the top echelon.

Morrison Artists Series: Kavafian-Schub-Shifrin Trio

After 25 years of friendship and music making, violinist Ani Kavafian, pianist Andre-Michel Schub and clarinetist David Shifrin come together as a trio with undeniable chemistry. They are all members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The members of the Kavafian-Schub-Shifrin Trio have performed with nearly every major orchestra around the world and in recital at the major concert halls.

The Afiara String Quartet, an energetic and burgeoning ensemble, returns to the campus where it was 2007-08 Morrison Fellowship Quartet-in-Residence and mentored by the Alexander String Quartet. Described as “quicksilver and delicate … electric and filled with sentiment” by the San Jose Mercury News, the quartet is now graduate resident string quartet at The Julliard School.

Morrison Artists Series: Wind Soloists of New York

The Wind Soloists of New York bring their oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn and piano to San Francisco State. Individually, the virtuosi of this group have performed with noted ensembles including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Metropolitan Opera and the Cleveland and Boston Symphony orchestras.

Morrison Artists Series: Brasil Guitar Duo and Sarah Wolfson

The Brasil Guitar Duo and soprano Sarah Wolfson close the Morrison Artists Series season with an engaging performance. Wolfson and the duo has each won the Concert Artists Guild International Competition and performed at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
