Intersections of the Old and New presents advanced student choreography exploring diversity, expressing complex emotion and observing the iconic intricacies of modern life. Thirteen student voices offer a wide range of dynamic pieces, including a sophisticated twist on traditional tap, experimental theatre-dance fusion, modern, hip-hop, contemporary, abstract, gestural quirky and a fascinating fusion of modern movement with exotic belly dance. As varied as these dance forms are, a common ground exists—the desire to explore and express personal creativity through movement.
