Fall Into Jazz: SF State Gospel Choir

The 40-member SF State Gospel Choir will perform a mix of traditional and contemporary songs, including Richard Smallwood’s Anthem of Praise—backed by the SF State Orchestra. Guest appearances by Stellar Award nominee Malcolm Williams and the San Jose State Gospel Choir.

Gospel Choir

Founded in 2004, the student-run SF State Gospel Choir performs to packed crowds on campus and at Bay Area churches and conferences.

SF State’s longtime excellence in jazz and world music continues today, as students follow in the giant steps of famed alumni including Cal Tjader, John Handy, Wesla Whitfield, George Duke and Kitty Margolis. This annual festival features three nights of invigorating concerts that showcase the diversity of this truly global, yet uniquely American, art form.
